Wanda Cheryle McMillan, 86, of Galesburg, died at 11:23 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born Friday, November 26, 1937, in Berwick, the daughter of William and Doris (Meadows) Bush. She married Merrill G. “Mac” McMillan on December 7, 1957, in Carthage. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2014, after over 56 years of marriage.

She is survived by three children, Mitchell G. (Gail) McMillan of Galesburg, Shelly L. Primmer of Inman, South Carolina, and Stacie D. (Mike) Westfall of Galesburg; five grandchildren, Barrett (Jordan Lawton) Primmer, Amanda (Corey) Shivers, Jessica (Beau Lehnhausen) Ayers, Kayla Westfall, and Katie Westfall; six great grandchildren, Cash, Averleigh, and Brooklyn Primmer, Piper and Alice Shivers, and Layla Ayers; and three sisters, Blondell “LoAnne” Mathews of Arkansas, Agnes Glennadean “Deanie” Roberts of Knoxville, and Evelyn “Lona” Morris of Knoxville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Jeffrey W. Primmer; a brother, Charles Bush; and sisters, Phyllis Asher, Dixie Stevens, and Carol Kay Holly.

She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1955. Wanda was an inspector for the Maytag Corporation for 27 ½ years before retiring. She enjoyed going to casinos, reading, puzzle books, and traveling.

Cremation will be accorded. There will be no visitation or service. Wanda’s remains will be interred in the Abingdon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to OSF Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.
