New Farmers Market Coming to Knoxville

Share

Longer daylight hours and warmer weather can only mean one thing: farmers market season is back for the 2024 season. This year, there is a new farmers market coming to western Illinois, explains Kathy Walker, organizer of the Knoxville Farmers Market.

“We went to the city meeting in Knoxville and put together a plan on what we wanted to do starting one, and why you want to have one,” says Walker. “For me, it’s all about giving back to the community, you know, having a place for people to meet and then also, you know, a place for local farmers and growers and artisans and bakers to have a place to sell their product to the community.”

Walker will host the first Knoxville Farmers Market on Wednesday, May 22 from 3-7 pm.
