Thomas E. Brownlee, 67, of Little York, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Tom was born August 10, 1956 in Monmouth, IL the son of Thomas H. and Shirley (Lewis) Brownlee.  He was raised and educated in rural Little York, attending Yorkwood High School.

Tom married Carol Edwards on September 12, 1975 in Kirkwood, IL and she survives.

Tom drove trucks for RCM Transportation for many years and later worked as a farm hand for Bob Munson until 2004 when he began working at John Deere retiring in 2021.

Tom was known as a “tough guy” that lived an adventurous life in his younger years. He was a handyman that could build or fix almost anything.  He was an avid hunter alongside his daughter, Heather. Tom also enjoyed mushrooming, fishing, farming, ATV’s, motorcycles, gambling, visiting Tennessee and spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Brownlee; his daughters, Kristen (Lucas) Michael of Monmouth, IL, Nikki (John) Mills of Little York and Marissa (Wes) Ekstedt of Galva, IL; his grandchildren, Parker Mills, Wyatt Michael, Kaylee Michael and Lucy Ekstedt; sisters, Sharon (Marty) Daily, Deb Hart and Pam Harris; brother, Bob (Shanda) Brownlee all of Little York; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Heather S. Brownlee.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday, May 5, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation has been accorded.  A private family interment will take place at Cedar Creek Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the Little York Children’s Playground Enhancement Fund (CPEF).
