Mrs. Carolyn Marie Tinkham, of Aiken, SC, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.

She was born in Monmouth, IL in 1949, Carolyn retired from Monmouth College before making Aiken County, SC, her home. She was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church. She loved her church family. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, playing cards with the family, and especially making handmade cards, she was known to spend hours perfecting them. She loved her family deeply and will be remembered for being a devoted wife, and a caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, David Tinkham; mother, Gloria M. Hartley; sons, David C. (Susan) Tinkham Jr. of Carrollton, TX, and Douglas K. (Deeanna) Tinkham of Sudbury Ontario, Canada; brother, Richard (Mary Margaret) Hartley of Laura, IL; grandchildren, Jacob (Brittany) Tinkham of Abingdon, IL, and Cydney Tinkham of Sudbury Ontario, Canada; and great grandchildren, Jaxon Tinkham, Aris Tinkham, and Paige Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her father, Roy E. Hartley.

Mr. David C. Tinkham, age 75, of Aiken, SC, passed away on Sunday March 3, 2024 at his home.

David was born in Monmouth, IL in 1949. Mr. Tinkham retired from Maytag after nearly 40 years of service.  After his retirement he and Carolyn moved to Aiken, SC in 2006. He and his wife were members of New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Aiken. There were things in his life that were of most importance, and those things were; family, church, neighbors and Alabama football. He will be deeply missed by his family and all whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his sons, David C. (Susan) Tinkham, Jr. of Aiken, SC, Douglas K. (Deeanna) Tinkham of Sudbury Ontario, Canada; brother, Willard Tinkham of Monmouth, IL; sister, Carol (Robert) Johnson of Gravois Mills, Missouri; grandchildren, Jacob (Brittany) Tinkham of Abingdon, IL, Cydney Tinkham of Sudbury Ontario, Canada; and great grandchildren, Jaxon Tinkham, Aris Tinkham and Paige Johnson of Abingdon, IL.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Clark C. and Arliene E. Tinkham of Monmouth, IL and his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn M. Tinkham.

A Graveside Service for David & Carolyn will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Central (christcentralaiken.com) or ACTS (actsofaiken.org).
