Sallie A. Doty, 81, of Kirkwood, IL, passed away at 5:40 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. 

She was born on January 20, 1943 in Ft. Madison, IA, the daughter of Luis and Margarita (Enriquez) Salazar.  Sallie was raised and educated in Ft. Madison and later graduated from Yorkwood High School. 

Sallie married Ronald E. Doty on May 14, 1960 in Edwardsville, IL; and he survives. 

Sallie worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middleton, IA for several years.  She later was a homemaker and enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.  Sallie enjoyed reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, and a game of pitch with family and friends.  Sallie liked traveling, especially their annual trips to Mesa, AZ and Branson, MO.  She volunteered for many years at the Jamieson Community Center in Monmouth.   Most of all, Sallie cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   

Surviving Sallie is her husband, Ronald E. Doty of Kirkwood, IL; one daughter, Joni (Mark) Blackman of Biggsville, IL; one son, J. Cord (Sonia) Doty of Mesa, AZ; her grandchildren, Nicole (Brent) Giosta of Morton, IL, Brandon (Rachel) Blackman of Kirkwood, IL, Tasha (Cody) Mack of Mesa, AZ, Shane (Laura) Doty of Mesa, AZ; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Richard Salazar, Raymond Salazar, Luis Salazar, Manuel Salazar and Gene Salazar; and one sister, Irene Nelson.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 23, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Interment will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood, IL.  No visitation hours are planned.  Memorials can be made to Jamieson Community Center in Monmouth.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
