With the last COVID class rolling through, 725 students will hit the Monmouth College campus this fall and begin their stent of being nine-month tourists in the City of Monmouth, shares Associate Vice President, Communications and Marketing Duane Bonifer:
“We will have a larger Freshman class and a larger class of new students this year. Total enrollment will be about 725, which is a little bit down since the COVID pandemic, but we had smaller classes, so those smaller classes are finishing through the pipeline. What I always like to say is that Monmouth will have nine-month tourists here in town and that is really what our students are, right. They come here for nine months, and they spend their money, they bring their friends and family members come when they have ballgames and plays and concerts from all over Illinois and all over the Midwest. We will also have students from states as far away as California, Texas, and Florida. If you want to see a good example of the geographic diversity of the Monmouth College student body, hop on monmouthscots.com and just check out the rosters.”
Around 65 percent of the student body at Monmouth College compete in athletics.
