Knox County Deputies Investigating String of Vehicle Burglaries

On 08/14/24 at approximately 2:30 AM, Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle theft in Knoxville, IL. Deputies had later learned that multiple vehicles had been burglarized within Knoxville.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office immediately deployed multiple Deputies and Investigators to assist in handling several reports of thefts and burglaries in town of Knoxville.

Further investigation led Deputies to locating the stolen vehicle in Peoria IL. Suspects of interest have been noted at this time and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office is actively working on leads to identify these suspects.

We would like to encourage all citizens to keep your vehicles and personal items secure. Always lock your vehicles and take your personal items and keys into your house with you.

If anyone has video footage from their residential video cameras of any suspicious persons or vehicles from last night between the hours of 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM please contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and make your report with Detective Keith by calling 309-343-9151.
