The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau® Foundation is proud to announce this year’s scholarship recipients. Due to the generosity of the Twomey Family Foundation, memorials in honor of loved ones, support from our members and area businesses, and fundraising efforts, the Foundation can assist nineteen applicants this year in furthering their education in agriculture. Each of this year’s recipients will receive a total of $1,300 for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Foundation started awarding scholarships in 1994 and since that time has awarded 412 scholarships and almost $350,000 to students continuing their education in an agricultural field of study.

Meet one of this year’s recipients: Dexter Ricketts

Dexter Ricketts attended Black Hawk East in Galva in the spring but plans to transfer to Western Illinois University in the fall to major in Ag Science. While at Black Hawk, Dexter was involved in the ag business club. In his spare time, he enjoys working on show cattle along with working on his family’s farm. He is also interested in other species of show livestock like goats and swine. Future plans for Dexter include getting a job in the agriculture field as well as helping on the family farm. Dexter is the son of Dudley and Julie Ricketts of Little York.
