Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sept. 15, 2024:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week. This week the spotlight shines on senior football player, Ivan Godina. The Titans pulled off a late comeback win over Kewanee thanks in large part Ivan’s right foot. He was a perfect 3-for-3 on his extra-point kicks. Ivan’s clutch 24 yard field goad at the end of the first half proved to be the deciding three points in the victory.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Zeke Clark. The Red Storm nearly upset one of the Lincoln Land Conference preseason favorites ROWVA/Williamsfield, before falling in overtime, and Zeke played a huge part in it. He caught ten passes for an amazing 228 yards. Zeke also reached the endzone three times at the end of those grabs.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore swimmer and volleyball player, Becca Hinshaw. It’s another busy fall for the 2-sport star. In the pool, she placed 1st in a 50 yard freestyle race and 2nd in a 100 backstroke event. Becca also recorded 38 assists and 7 services aces in two Heat volleyball victories.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls swimmer, Lily Furrow. Lily is picking up right where she left off last season, as the reigning Western Big Six Conference Swimmer of the Year picked up 7 first place finishes in two meets last week. She won four individual events and swam a leg on three winning relay teams.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior soccer player, Jadon Rodeffer. Jadon and the Tornadoes are hitting their stride as midseason nears. He scored a team-high four goals and added two assists in the Tornadoes three wins last week.
