Sheryl Ann “Sherry” “Crazy Grandma, Sherry” Hall of Knoxville, Illinois died at 11:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois surrounded by her family.

She was bon on June 29, 1944 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Ralph Rankin and Mary Carolyn (Brockway) Bertelsen. She was raised and educated in Alexis, Illinois. She married Rodger G. Hall on July 13, 1990 in Rock Island, Illinois.

Surviving is her husband, Rodger Hall of Knoxville, Illinois; her children: Brenda B. Bird of Galesburg, Illinois, Troy R. Bird of Knoxville, Illinois, Scott A. (Marisabel Q.) Bird of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Heidi A. (Tim) Silberer of Knoxville, Illinois; step-children: Terri Jene (Lyle) Weidenhamer, Sondra Lynn (Sanny) Sage of Monmouth, Illinois, and Cathleen Nola (Michael) Bishop of Berwick, Illinois; twenty-three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, William “Bill” Bertelsen of Alexis, Illinois.

She attended Beauty School in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as a Teacher’s Aid in Special Education. She was active in Boy Scouts, gardening, and scuba diving. She was a member of Community Bible Church in Knoxville, Illinois and very active in the church with the choir and youth ministries. She loved her family and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Community Bible Church in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Bible Church Youth Ministries at 1369 Knox Highway 8, Knoxville, Illinois, 61448.
