Robert J. Harr, age 69, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 8:58 am on Thursday November 14, 2025 at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois. Robert was born on May 21, 1955 in Burlington, Iowa and is the son of Billy and Bonnie Maxine Yocum Harr. Robert was raised in Stronghurst, Illinois where he attended local schools and graduated from Southern High School with the class of 1973. On December 31, 1981 Robert married Kristen Ellen Carlson in Oquawka, Illinois and she is surviving him. Robert first was employed several years at Admiral Corporation in Galesburg, Illinois. He then began work for the Sante Fe Railroad where he was “trackman” for 39 years to his retirement. He loved riding and owning horses and he and Kristen often went camping in Missouri. They enjoyed camping in their motor home in various campgrounds in the area. He and she also loved to go boating many years on the Mississippi in their Jon boat. Most recently they enjoyed riding side-by-sides with Kris and friends in Oquawka and Keithsburg, Illinois.

Robert is survived by his wife, Kristen E. Harr of Oquawka, Illinois, and his daughter, Kandi Carlson of Wright City, Missouri and son, William Sweet of Oquawka, Illinois. Their granddaughter, Hanna Evans survives in Clinton, Indiana and great grandson, Aiden Evans also of Clinton. Robert has two sisters, Billie Smith of Stronghurst, Illinois and Larrie Schaley and Rick of Stronghurst, Illinois. Many nieces and nephews also are surviving him. He is preceded in his death by his parents, sister Nickie, and grandson Blake.

As were his wishes, cremation is being accorded Robert, and at present no visitation or service is being planned. A “Celebration of his Life” is being planned by his family at a later date.
