Danny J. Howerton, 50, of Galesburg, died at 3:38 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2024, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born March 16, 1974, in Vung Tau, Vietnam, the son of Stanley M. and Linh T. Howerton.

He is survived by his parents, Stanley and Linh of Galesburg and three brothers, Samuel, David, and Steven. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and an uncle, James Howerton.

Danny was a truck driver and mechanic. He enjoyed staying busy working on cars. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1992.

Private family funeral will be Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Abingdon. Pastor Danny Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
