Thomas “Tom” Edward Currier, age 86, formerly of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully on February 05, 2025 at Goldwater Care, Roseville, IL.

Tom was born July 23, 1938 in Cleveland, OH. Tom was a graduate of Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.  He earned his Masters from the University of Delaware and went on to graduate from George Washington University Law School.

 Tom spent his early career working for DuPont and later worked in Rockford, IL for Pierce Chemical Company and eventually his own Law practice. Tom also was elected to serve for many years as the Winnebago County Board Chairman.   In addition to Tom’s admirable career, he also loved to golf, ski and travel. Tom rarely missed watching any of his favorite sport’s teams on television. Tom was a proud Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Ohio State University Buckeye fan. Tom was actively involved in his children’s lives including coaching several of his girls’ softball teams and always being there to “have a catch”. Those who had the privilege of knowing Tom, knew him to be a wonderful man with a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and personality. Tom was a joy to be around and always had a knack to make others laugh.


Tom is survived by his daughters, Cara Currier and Jaymie Currier Romack; his grandchildren, Milan Thomas Milanovich, Haley Currier, Ashley Currier and Alyssa Romack.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Skorepa) Currier, and his eldest daughter, Courtney Currier.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  No visitation or services are planned at this time.  Memorials can be made to the Thomas Currier Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
