Nancy Mowen, Executive Director of Jamieson Community Center, expects to see an increase in visits with the new Budget that was just passed.

“There is going to be cuts. The budget that was passed cut many dollars out of the budget, exactly where those hits are going to take place, we are unsure. SNAP is a very likely target and that gives me some cause for concern. I know many families are right on the edge now and cuts, reductions in programs that provide basic needs to families, to our seniors, to our children, are going to increase the volume that we see at Jamieson Community Center. I want to ensure that we have the ability and the capacity to make sure that we don’t have to turn anyone away.”

The Jamieson Community Center Cereal Drive is still going on. Head to one of your favorite grocery stores in Monmouth, buy a box of cereal and they will collect it for the Jamieson Center for you.
