Flavor Freeze Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, at approximately 9:21 PM, the Galesburg Police Department responded to Flavor Freeze, 552 S. Farnham Street, Galesburg, IL in reference to an armed robbery. The suspect, Grayling Churn, 67 years old, departed the scene with a bank bag containing cash. Officers located the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop, which led officers to pursue the vehicle for several blocks.  The vehicle came to a stop in the 200 block of Linneus Avenue in Galesburg. Grayling Churn exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers were able to detain Grayling Churn after a short foot chase.

Grayling Churn was taken into custody and charged with: Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer, and several traffic violations.

Grayling Churn is being investigated in conjunction with other incidents and recent robberies in Galesburg. He remains in custody at Knox County Jail.
