On Saturday, April 26th, a resident in the City of Monmouth notified the police department they had accidentally lost a firearm between Monmouth and Colona. Police Chief Joe Switzer informs the department conducted a thorough investigation:

“We did have a resident within the City, they misplaced a firearm between the City of Monmouth and Colona. We are not sure where that firearm was lost at. We did do an extensive search the day that the individual reported to us and looked here in Monmouth where he went from ‘point a’ to ‘point b’ and then left the City to go to Colona and it was not located. We notified the other jurisdictions. If anyone finds anything, call 911 and let us know about it.”
