Marilyn Louise Litchfield, 87, of Galesburg, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Oakview Nursing Home in Burlington, Iowa.

She was born March 30, 1938, in Macomb, the daughter of John Howard and Mildred L. (Brown) Ebbert. She married Perry Eldon Litchfield on May 6, 1962, in Adair. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2003, after more than 40 years of marriage.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Krista) Litchfield and Rosemary (Robert) Akins, both of Burlington; six grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marjorie Sammons.

Marilyn was raised on the family farm outside of Adair. She graduated from Macomb High School in 1957. After finishing beauty school in Galesburg, she worked as a beautician before her marriage. After marriage, Marilyn concentrated on raising her family and being a homemaker.

She will be laid to rest in East Linwood Cemetery next to Perry. There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held in the summer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakview Nursing Home Activity Fund. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Service of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.
