At the recent United Board of Education meeting, the newly elected board members were officially seated, and internal officer elections were held, reports Superintendent Tom Hawkins:

“We had our special meeting where we said goodbye to a couple of our board members that have done service. I want to say a big thank you to Danny Toops and Tina Guild for all their work they have done for the United schools. We also welcomed the four winners of the election, which were Hank Shimmin and Jill Jenks, who are returning to the board, but our newest board members Josh Oaks and Holly Tharp are joining us. They will be on the board with us until 2029. Then we elected officers, and Scott Campbell will be taking over as our new President, Hank Shimmin will be our Vice President, and Jill Jenks will retain as our Secretary.”

Superintendent Hawkins informs the Board’s first official order of business is selecting meeting dates, times, and locations, as the board will be holding meeting at each building throughout the district this next school year.
