As the Labor Day weekend approaches the 2025 Warren County Prime Beef Festival will begin and the parade route has been determined explains Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer:

“We have officers on all the time, but we will have extra officers on for the Labor Day weekend. It is a busy weekend, and the big things are that everybody likes to celebrate and have a good time. Don’t drink and drive. If you do, get a ride from somebody or take a taxi or Uber home,” reports Chief Switzer.

“Meanwhile, by ordinance on the day of the parade, vehicles are not allowed to park on the parade route, which people are really good about that. We notify Monmouth College, and they put it out to their students and staff not to park on Broadway. The parade starts on South C Street, in that area of West Broadway, it turns onto Broadway, comes around the Square, and then goes out to 11th Street on East Broadway,” adds Chief Switzer.

Chief Switzer reminds everyone this Labor Day weekend to stay safe and do not drive while under the influence. Instead, you can Uber or find a ride from a friend.
