Susan Jo Carr, 82, of Monmouth, Illinois, died Friday, September 19, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born February 26, 1943, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth King and Dora “Jean” (Knustrom) McKee. Susan married James E. Carr on July 30, 1966 in Knoxville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1980.
Left to cherish her memory are three sons: Jeffrey (Robin) Stivers of Burlington, Iowa, Timothy (Amy) Carr of Milan, Illinois, and Damon (Lisa) Carr of Naples, Florida; five daughters: Christina Stivers of Newton, Iowa, Kathe Stivers of Burlington, Iowa, Micki (John) Graves of Oneida, Illinois, Rachel Carr (Charles Payne) of Kirkwood, and Sally (Ray) Price of Cairo, Georgia; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one great granddaughter, Alexandria Payne; one brother, Michael McKee; and one nephew, Stephen McKee.
Susan was a devoted member of Faith Bible Church in Oquawka. She liked shopping and riding motorcycles. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and seeing her granddog.
Cremation will be accorded. Burial of her cremated remains will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Oquawka Cemetery in Oquawka, Illinois. A funeral luncheon and celebration of Susan’s life will follow at Faith Bible Church in Oquawka. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
