The City of Galesburg is notifying the public of three separate upcoming BNSF projects that will result in temporary crossing closures, weather permitting.
Broad Street Crossing
Closed from 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025 through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Whitesboro Street Crossing
Closed from 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025 through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
North Academy Street Crossing
Closed from 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 through 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
These temporary closures are necessary to complete rail crossing surface improvements that will enhance long-term safety and infrastructure reliability. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to plan alternate routes during the work periods.
