Senior Nutrition through the Jamieson Community Center has entered their next fiscal year, which is available to those 60 and older in Henderson, Mercer, and Warren Counties, informs Executive Director Nancy Mowen:

“We are seeing older people, especially people in their 70s and older, who are having a difficult time with their monthly bills. It is just a different situation for people. Daily living costs have gone up so much and their money just doesn’t stretch. We want to ensure that they have access to good nutritious food. We have the congregate meal sites; we also have a home delivered meal program for people who can’t get out and about. We do that throughout Warren, Henderson, and Mercer Counties. That is partially funded by the Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging and United Way of West Central Illinois.”

More than 55,000 meals are served each year to area seniors through this program. For more information, contact the Jamieson Community Center’s office at 309-734-4251.
