If you are interested in railroad history, this Thursday, October 9th, Dr. Simon Cordery will be giving a lecture on his latest book at the Warren County History Museum, informs Executive Director Dr. Eugene Watkins:

“Entitled ‘Gilded Age Entrepreneur: The Curious Life of American Financier Albert Benton Pullman.’ When I first talked to him, I was under the impression that it was going to be about George Pullman, I didn’t know that George had a brother Albert. Apparently from the interviews I have read with Dr. Cordery, he didn’t either until he began doing research and found out that this guy kept popping up and seemed to be a very fascinating individual. He was heavily involved in creating the company and designing the Pullman Cars and doing a lot of that, but he had a number of issues and was eventually pushed out of the company and George then becomes the famous one,” states Dr. Watkins.

“In addition to Dr. Cordery coming to speak about that, we have a young man coming from Henry County. He is a collector of railroad memorabilia. He is supposed to be coming to do a little exhibit during Dr. Cordery’s lecture,” Dr. Watkins adds.

Dr. Simon Cordery’s lecture will begin at 7 pm Thursday evening and is free and open to the public.
