What was a lifelong passion and a hobby, the husband and wife team of Phil and Johanna Hennenfent turned the love of barbecuing into a business. Henn House Barbeque, the food truck style catering experience, launched in 2014 and has never looked back. Serving anything from beef, pork, to chicken, Phil shares his favorite is brisket, which has grown in popularity over the years:
“Fifteen years ago, they couldn’t give brisket away. It was worth nothing because nobody could cook it,” shares Phil.
“It was tough and it was dry,” Johanna adds.
“Once all these barbecue shows started, that is when the price started creeping up. Now we are paying five bucks a pound plus,” Phil states.
