The Monmouth-Roseville Board of Education has approved a 2026 health insurance plan for the district, informs Superintendent Ed Fletcher:
“We had to do something creative because our initial quote came in a little bit over a 30 percent increase. We ended up approving a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan with a higher deductible, but then on a side by side, we bought a deductible buy down plan. So, basically when you go to a physician or something, you bring in two cards, Blue Cross Blue Shield will bill and then you have to send the bill to the deductible buy down insurance company. That is the only way we could keep our insurance manageable. For a single insurance the district pays 90 percent, and the staff members pays 10 percent, but for a family we are looking at $1,400 to $1,500 a month, then it scales down a little bit for an employee spouse and a little bit more for employee children.”
