The (3-10) Monmouth-Roseville Titans girls basketball squad spent their holiday break competing at the Erie-Prophetstown Cliff Warkins Girls Basketball Classic. The Titans opened the tournament with two pool play losses on Saturday to TRAC rival Kewanee and the Fulton Steamers. Monmouth-Roseville had two more matchups on Monday against Bureau Valley and closed the tournament yesterday with another TRAC foe in Hall.
The Titans fell to Bureau Valley 60-29 before wrapping up the classic with a 57-39 loss to Hall on Tuesday.
Head Coach Don Luper says he was proud of the effort his team showed in the final night of the tournament.
Monmouth-Roseville will return to action after the first of the year, traveling to Sherrard on Monday for a TRAC West Division matchup with the Tigers. The next home game for the Titans will be next Wednesday against Rockridge. It will be only the second home of the season for Monmouth-Roseville.
