A portion of Harlem Avenue in Monmouth has temporarily reopened, and crews expect to reopen the remaining section later this winter, according to Mayor Rod Davies:
“They were able to get some asphalt down as they had got their storm sewer put in. We got some gravel down for base and they put some asphalt over top so we could get it open for at least part of the way. I think when the weather clears up again, I think they are going to try some more of that. They are trying to work with us to get it back open until they get into full construction season.”
As for snow removal on the sidewalks of the Public Square in Downtown Monmouth, McVey Landscaping has contracted with the city through the remainder of the year and then starting January 1st, the contract with MCAP and McVey Landscaping for that downtown sidewalk snow removal will begin.
