If you qualify for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, you may also qualify for the Weatherization Program through the Western Illinois Regional Council, which assists income-eligible homeowners in making their homes safer and more energy efficient. CEO Stacy Nimmo says applications are currently being accepted:

“If you qualify for LIHEAP, you may qualify for weatherization. Our team comes in and they will do an assessment and determine what energy savings we might be able to help with. Most of the time with the people that we weatherize their homes, they see an 80 percent reduction in their electric and heating bills,” informs Nimmo.

“One new thing with the Weatherization Program, for us this year we are going to start doing weatherization for multi-family homes,” Nimmo adds.

To see if you are eligible for energy savings through the Weatherization Program, contact the WIRC office at 309-837-2997.
