Knox County Mental Health (708) Board Grant Applications Now Available

Local funds based upon a property tax levy are available to Knox County organizations and agencies, including for profit businesses. Application forms are now available on the Knox County Board website to apply for Knox County Mental Health (708) Board funding. Over $1,800,000 in tax funds may be awarded to provide funding for local mental health services, substance use services and developmental disabilities services. The deadline to file an application is February 27, 2026.

The Knox County Mental Health Board was authorized by countywide ballot referendum at the April 2017 election. It was established to meet funding needs of programs that provide treatment for local persons affected by mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and substance abuse issues. Funding is by local property tax. The funding cycle runs from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. All disbursements are made through the Knox County Treasurer’s office with review by the County Board.
