Two staff members with McDonough District Hospital have been recognized for their above and beyond service with the APPLE and DAISY Awards, informs CEO Bill Murdock:

Emily Alden – McDonough District Hospital APPLE Award Recipient

“We honored some staff members with the APPLE Award, Emily Alden received that award, and then for the DAISY Award, which is a nursing award, was received by Macey Moore, she’s an ER Nurse at the hospital and does a wonderful job for us,” says Murdock.

“They are a designation for people that go above and beyond the normal call of duty. Emily stands out as our Patient Advocate. She is right there on the front lines, talking with our patients and their families, making sure everything is okay. If something is not quite right, she is out there visiting with them and trying to figure out how we can get better. Then the DAISY Award is a nursing award that has many different levels to it. You have to be nominated by your peers, and the nominations are usually just stellar in why they are being recognized,” Murdock adds.

Additionally, during the recent McDonough District Hospital Board of Directors meeting, Dan O’Neill was voted to serve as Board Chair, JoEllen Pensinger as Vice Chair, and Ryan Riggins will continue his duties as the Secretary and Treasurer.
