Stacy L. Cooper, 55, of Biggsville, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the Richard Owens Hospice House, Peoria, IL. 

She was born on March 13, 1970 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Donald Sr. and Hattie (Brentise) Garrett.  Stacy was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School. 

Stacy began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a nursing home in Aledo, IL, where she was known for her compassion and dedication to caring for others. She later worked as a receptionist at Weber Concrete in Lebanon, Indiana, and most recently at Catfish Bend Casino in Burlington, where her friendly personality and welcoming presence made her a familiar face to many.

Outside of work, Stacy loved fishing and spending time along the river. She had an infectious spirit, loved to have a good time, and was often the life of the party. Above all else, Stacy cherished time spent with her friends and family.

Surviving Stacy are her children, Nathan Garrett of Macomb, IL, Britney (Josh Corman) Grisham of Sperry, IA, Krissa Yeater of Muscatine, IA; her grandchildren, Tobias Garrett, Maci Grisham, Brantley Grisham, Caiden Grisham, Karson Richter; her siblings, Donna Koehler of Gilbert, AZ, Wendy Brown of Monmouth, IL, and Donald Garrett, Jr. of Monmouth, IL.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pam Garrett; and one nephew, JJ Clayton.

A gathering of family & friends will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Stacy Cooper Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
