United Red Storm boys basketball has been back in action twice since returning from the Christmas break. Before resuming play at the Carl Sandburg Shootout last Saturday, the Red Storm had not seen game action since their win over Scales Mound back on December 20.
The Red Storm drew Peoria Heights at the Sandburg Shootout in a matchup that stayed tight throughout. United was unable to make a key run late, falling to the Patriots 59-53.
After a few days off, the Red Storm returned to the hardwood Tuesday night for their first Lincoln Trail Conference game of the season against ROWVA/Williamsfield. United jumped on the Cougars early and never looked back, rolling to a 72-35 win to improve to 4-8 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Head Coach Jason Lancaster says he’s starting to see the things his team has been working on come together.
The Red Storm will hit the road tomorrow for another conference matchup at Stark County, looking to keep momentum moving in the right direction and pick up their first set of back-to-back wins this season.
