Lincoln Trail Conference Announces Match Ups for Conference Tournament

With the final regular season standings decided on Wednesday night, the match ups are set for the LTC Tournament that will be hosted by Abingdon-Avon High School. The conference has another new format for the tourney, with the top four teams in the regular season standings playing a seeded, bracketed tournament. The state-ranked A-Town Tornadoes finished (10-0) and will take the top-seed into their game against 4th seeded Princeville on Saturday night at 6:30. The other semifinal will have 2nd seeded Wethersfield against #3 seed Bureau Valley at 5:00. The winners will meet for the tournament championship on Wednesday night at 7:30. The losers will play for 3rd on Wednesday at 6:00.

The next four teams in the final regular season standings will play a 4-team bracket tournament for 5th place. In the semifinals on Saturday afternoon, it will be #5 Knoxville and #8 R/W at 12:30, followed by #6 Ridgewood and #7 Stark County at 3:30. The winners will play for 5th place on Monday night 8:00, with the losers of Saturday’s games playing for 7th place on Monday night at 6:30.

The final three teams in the final standings will play a round-robin tournament for 9th place. 9th seeded Galva will play 11th seeded West Central at 11am on Saturday. West Central will play two games on Saturday, taking on 10th seeded United at 2:00. The final round robin game will be on Monday night at 5:00 featuring Galva and United.

Due to a lack of enough players, Annawan was not able to field a girls basketball team this winter, therefore there are only 11 total teams playing in the tournament.
