This spring or summer, the Monmouth Fire Department will be testing for entry-level firefighters to build an eligibility list for future hiring, explains Fire Chief Casey Rexroat:

“We will put out notices for that well ahead of time where people can apply. To apply, you need to be 21 years old, be a citizen of the United States, have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. You do get extra points when you test if you have your EMT Basic License or your EMT Paramedic License, both of those do get you extra points when you test for the fire department. Also, you do get extra points for military if you have had active-duty service and then if you have certain firefighter certifications, that will get you extra points too.”
