Allen L. Payne, 62, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at his home.

Allen was born July 5, 1963 in Monmouth the son of Charles and Evelyn (Price) Payne.  He was raised and educated in Kirkwood and Monmouth graduating from Yorkwood High School 1981.

Allen worked for several years at Vickroy’s Furniture in Monmouth.

He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and small engines and enjoyed fishing.  He like spending time with his family.

Survivors include his longtime girlfriend, Sue Chard of Monmouth; his mother, Evelyn Hathaway of Galesburg; sisters, Evelyn Barron of Monmouth, April Lucas of Burlington, IA, Penny Barry of Galesburg, IL, Bobbi Taylor of Burlington; brothers, Raymond Price of Cairo, GA, Charles Payne of Kirkwood, Jimmy Hathaway and Tony Hathaway both of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his step-father, Allen Hathaway.
