Henderson County residents are invited to take part in a Hazard Mitigation Survey to help create the county’s newest Hazard Mitigation Plan. Wendy Ferguson says the survey will remain open through the end of April.

“Henderson County is in the middle of updating their mitigation plan. What that does is update a plan for the community on projects like flood control improvements, stormwater upgrades, and public safety enhancements. All of this has to go into this mitigation plan, and that plan is part of the law which enables the community to remain eligible for federal funding,” Ferguson says.

“In order to do this, planners want input from community members, so they are conducting a survey. It should take about five minutes and will be used toward crafting this plan. They’re inviting any Henderson County residents, nonprofits, schools, and businesses to take the survey.”
