The Jamieson Community Center housing program is in full swing.
JCC Executive Director Nancy Mowen says the program focuses on purchasing vacant homes and helping qualified individuals become homeowners.
“We’re purchasing houses that are currently vacant, and we’re doing that with funds from the Pattee Foundation. Participants have to attend a workshop, they have to meet income requirements. We have a maximum income, and that is 80% of the median income. Once they attend the workshop and meet the income qualifications, we have a very short application. We’re going to ask them for proof of income, for bank statements. We require they save $1,000 down too.”
