Monmouth College’s Great Decisions series is back for its 46th year on campus. On Wednesday, March 18th, John Glasgow, a local expert on China and Program Director with the Association of Illinois Rural and Small Schools, will be presenting on ‘The United States and China:’
“Really it is just talking about local level trends that don’t really make headline news. If you are trying to understand where China is at today and where China is going to go, it actually depends a lot on the local level. You usually think of it as such a top-down country that whatever the top says goes, but in reality, the way that China has developed since the 1970s and 1980s, is that they are a lot more responsive and sensitive to the local level. So, my talk is really going to focus on local level trends that I have been following.”
Glasgow’s discussion on China will begin at 7:30 pm in Room 276 of the Center for Science and Business on the Monmouth College campus, Wednesday, March 18th.
