Over 140 pets were returned, rescued, or adopted in the City of Monmouth and Warren County throughout 2025, informs Warren County Animal Control Officer Becca Livingston:
“We brought in 145 dogs and one cat. We returned to owners 98. We returned 8 in the field, we transferred 19 out to rescues, and then two were adopted. With the Best Friends Association, we will get another year of a no-kill listing. If our return rate is high, that is how we get labeled as a no-kill through them.”
Livingston also reminds pet owners that all dogs and cats, four months of age and older are to be vaccinated. The Animal Registration Office for Warren County, located at 1360 South Main Street in Monmouth, is now open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 8 am to 2 pm.
