Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 1st, 2026:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Lilly Mahoney. Lilly finished up her high school basketball career with a spot on the Three Rivers Athletic Conference All-Conference list. She posted team high’s of 9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals a game for the season. Lilly was voted by the division’s coaches to the West Division’s second team.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is freshman girls basketball player, Ada Kunkle. Ada ended her first season of varsity basketball with a selection to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Conference team. She exploded onto the local high school basketball scene by leading the Red Storm in scoring at 9 points a game and rebounding at 8 boards a contest. The LTC coaches voted Ada onto the Honorable Mention list.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is boys basketball freshman Sam Deverell and sophomore Graham Kelly. Following great seasons for both young men, they were voted onto the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Conference team. They tied for the team-lead in scoring for the season at 13 points a game and both were over four rebounds and two assists a game. The LTC coaches named Sam and Graham to the LTC Second Team.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Ella Herchenroder. Ella’s steady guard play and superb leadership qualities was more than enough to get respect from Western Big Six Conference coaches. She was named to the conference’s All-Conference first team. Ella was second in the conference in assists with four per game and was a lock-down defender with 2 steals per contest.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Myli Webber. Myli was a big part of the fantastic Tornado basketball season. She filled up the stat sheet night-in, night-out, doing the hard work that it takes for a team to be successful. The Lincoln Trail Conference coaches voted Myli to the LTC All-Conference Second Team.
