Real Cost of Homeownership workshops, presented by Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Northern Illinois, are held Tuesday, April 21 at 5:00 p.m. or Wednesday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Jamieson Community Center, 1025 S. 2nd St., Monmouth. There is no cost to attend.

Workshop attendance is the first step in qualifying to purchase a home through the joint partnership with JCC and Pattee Foundation. The program is designed to expand access to affordable homeownership opportunities in the community. Newly renovated homes will be offered at affordable pricing, with estimated monthly mortgage payments around $1,000.
To be eligible to purchase a home through the program, applicants must be first-time homebuyers, attend the workshop, complete required credit counseling, save at least $1,000 toward a down payment, be pre-approved for a mortgage, and meet income guidelines (up to 80% of Area Median Income). If multiple applicants qualify for a particular home, names will be placed in a drawing.
Jamieson Community Center staff, board members, and their immediate families are not eligible.
