Throughout the month of May, the Buchanan Center for the Arts will teach a four-part class to go along with the world-wide event, ‘Game of Shrooms,’ explains Program Coordinator Rebecca Quick:
“’Game of Shrooms’ is a world-wide event where artists create mushroom themed artwork, either 2D or 3D. Then on June 13th of this year, the artists will hide their works in the area and post about where to find the pieces on social media, giving little hints and clues as to where you can find them. This is meant to be an all-inclusive event where the artist and collector are equally important,” says Quick.
“The BCA will be teaching four classes relating to this game on Wednesday nights in May from 5 to 7 pm at the Monmouth American Legion. They will be May 6th, May 13th, May 20th, and May 27th,” Quick adds.
The first class on May 6th will explain how to participate in the game, followed by 2D artmaking techniques, and then two classes covering 3D artmaking. All classes are free. For more information, contact the BCA at 309-734-3033.
