According to Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer, the eligibility list with the Police Department has expired and they will be testing again June 13th:
“We are going to be testing on June 13th to get more candidates on our eligibility list. I am going to need to hire two people this year at some point in time. If anybody is interested, you can come fill out an application at the Police Department or on the City’s website and then turn it in. If you want to know what the requirements are for the physical testing, call down to the Police Department and we will get that information to you. There is a written test involved and oral interviews with the Police and Fire Commission,” says Chief Switzer.
“You can’t be over the age of 35 if you have never been a certified law enforcement officer, need a high school diploma, Illinois driver’s license, and you need to have a clean background check,” Chief Switzer adds.
Testing on Saturday, June 13th with the Monmouth Police Department will begin at 9 am at the station, 500 South Main Street.
