2026 marks 50 years of Choral Dynamics helping the community through song. This weekend that love of music will be on display during ‘Raising Spirits with Song’ at The Orpheum Theatre, explains Producer Phil Yeast:

“It started with Jean Shumard; she had a show idea that she had for a few years. Since it is the 50th Anniversary show, they wanted something special, but they didn’t necessarily want a retro kind of show by itself, so we had to be creative. We took a skeleton of her show and we expanded it. It has basically three elements in it; the history of Galesburg, it also covers the 50th Anniversary of Choral Dynamics, and the 250th Anniversary of our country,” shares Yeast.

“It is ‘Raising Spirits with Song.’ It is directed by Alisa Ramer. It is a two hour show that is filled with a lot of comedy, a lot of singing, and audience participation. It is going to be a fun-filled night for the whole family,” Yeast adds.

Proceeds from this show will benefit the Children’s Grief Camp of Galesburg. Performances of ‘Raising Spirits with Song’ will be 7 pm Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th and the at 2 pm Sunday, May 31st, all at The Orpheum Theatre in Galesburg.
