Now through the first four months of 2026, Jamieson Community Center Executive Director Nancy Mowen compares visits and those being served within the food security programs:

“Our food security programs have been very busy. We have added 20 new people on our Senior Nutrition routes. That is about a ten percent increase just in the last month. Our food pantry visits are up. We served over 1,000 families last year and had more than 6,000 visits to the pantry. To give you something to compare, we are averaging a little over 550 visits a month. Before the last couple of years, our previous record was 290 visits in one month and that was a record.”

Additionally, Mowen informs Ally Braet will move into the Chairperson position on Jamieson Community Center’s Board of Directors, and a new Vice Chair will be selected at the meeting in May.
