Bridgeway is getting ready for a community fundraiser this June, featuring a 5K, fun run, and more.
The event is being held in partnership with a local star shares Vice President of Disability Services Alyssa Hart.
“June 13th, we are going to have our first big fundraiser at Bridgeway. It’s called Judy’s Pancake 5K and Fun Run. If you’ve not seen Judy’s reels, I’d be surprised. She partnered with us. Victor Dantes here has an office right around the corner. He’s just great, and we’ve been working together to really share this fundraiser.
So June 13th in Galesburg. It is there where our Bridgeway location is, on 2323 Windish Drive. The 5K starts at 8 o’clock, the fun run will start at 9, and then we’ll have a cornhole bags tournament that we’re going to start, I think, around 10:30 after awards.
But it’s a fun day. We’ll have food trucks, and then we probably have about 50 to 60 vendors that will be sharing items they sell, kind of just get out there and share what everyone can do in the community to help each other.”
Hart says all proceeds from the event will go toward consumers with mental health needs and disabilities who live in Bridgeway’s residential facilities.
