The McDonough District Hospital Board of Directors announced last week a change in their leadership team. Vice President of Business Strategy Patrick Osterman explains the transition:

“The Board of Directors decided to do a couple of changes. Bill Murdock, he is going to be with us in his CEO role for another two months. The Board has started the process already to find a replacement for Bill; keep him on board and hopefully help with a very smooth transition. Bill did a lot of great things for the hospital, certainly want to thank him for all of his service. No matter who is in charge, no matter who the CEO is, we still have a job to do and that is taking care of our patients,” says Osterman.

“We have been open going on 68 years and we want to be around as an independent county-owned hospital for another 68 years. We also announced that Melissa Onion, our Director of Obstetrics, is going to be serving as our Interim Chief Nursing Officer,” Osterman adds.

Murdock has served as the President and CEO of McDonough District Hospital since December 2023.
