Even though the school year has wrapped up, the Monmouth College campus will stay busy this summer.
Troy Hippen, Associate Director of Annual Fund and Fighting Scots Giving, says the annual Golden Scots celebration is coming up June 4th through the 7th, bringing alumni back to campus for several reunion years.
“Every year we have our Golden Scots celebration. It’s those that have reunion years of 45th, 50th, 60th, and 65th. They always come back to campus around the first weekend in June and celebrate their reunions. They stay on campus; they essentially come back and act like students again. For a lot of the alums that come back, they haven’t been back since they graduated, so we’re talking 50-plus years potentially since they’ve been back on campus. Seeing the light in their eyes as they walk back and kind of go back to when they were 20 years old, it’s an incredible weekend full of events.”
Hippen says the weekend includes campus tours, classroom activities, reunion dinners, and social hours as alumni reconnect with Monmouth College and each other.
