It is ‘Muster in Monmouth’ weekend at the Warren County History Museum. Executive Director Dr. Eugene Watkins previews the items and demonstrations to be expected:

“It is our tribute to the area veterans and veterans in general; it covers from the War of 1812 all the way up to today. It showcases a lot of what the museum has in its’ collection that we can’t put out all the time and then collections from different private individuals in the area. It is primarily all original equipment, clothing, uniforms, trophies that were brought back, and we have what we call our ‘Wall of Evil;’ it’s a table showing all the souvenirs and trophies of the other side,” states Dr. Watkins.

“This year we actually ended up with a number of items from the Vietnam War. We will be dressing in Civil War, World War I, World War II, Vietnam, and today will all be represented. Then I think kind of the big stir this year is that I have some Medieval guys coming from Iowa,” Dr. Watkins adds.

Items for the ‘Muster in Monmouth’ collection will be on display Friday, May 22nd from 1 to 4 pm and on Saturday, May 23rd from 10 am to 4 pm with demonstration being presented at 11 am and 2 pm at the Warren County History Museum.
