Thomas Eugene Mehaffy, 75, of Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Elms, lovingly surrounded by his family. He was born April 29, 1951, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Ed and Agnes (Beers) Mehaffy. He was raised and educated in Quincy, graduating from Quincy High School in 1969. He later graduated from Central Christian College of the Bible.

He married Karol Adwell on May 20, 1972, in Ravenwood Missouri and she survives.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karol of Macomb; children, Jennifer (Jeff) Taylor of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Jason (Whitney) Mehaffy of Jacksonville, Illinois, Jami (Jason) Seggelke of Macomb, Illinois; grandchildren, Anya and Dempsey Mehaffy, Riley, Lucy, Santi and Deacon Seggelke; brother, John (Pat) Mehaffy of Quincy, Illinois, sister-in-law, Marilyn Mehaffy of Quincy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mick Mehaffy.

Tom served in ministry for 53 years. He ministered in the churches of Newtown, Missouri, Roseville, Illinois, and Bowen, Illinois. He was on the board of directors for the Central Christian College of the Bible and the LaMoine Christian Camp for many years where he served in many different roles (most notably as Co-Dean of Niners Week with Bill Hauser). He especially loved ministering at the coffee shop, golf course and behind the scorer’s table at the ball games. He was very well known in the community, serving in any possible way that he could find. In every way he served, it was for God’s glory.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Roseville Christian Church. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the LaMoine Christian Camp and left in the care of the funeral home. Interment will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
